The End that Everyone Knew and Never Came... until Now.

In hindsight, the band only lasted four months, but we did managed to squeeze a few gigs out of us.

I believe the band is now dead or perhaps it could even be alive in some other form without me in it. I have always hoped that the band would continue with or without one or some of its members, as I have always regarded this as a ministry.

I am pleased to know that everyone in the band has moved on to more meaningful things in their walk with God and has continue to serve in the music/worship ministry in their own way.

To all those who came to our gigs, whether to worship, to support us, or simply just to watch, we thank you.

We are grateful to all of you for your kind words of encouragement, prayers, gifts, handshakes, pats on the back, and the occasional constructive comments.

Here's something to commemorate 2006, the year Sevenfold was. Click here.

Continue to shine for the King of kings.

6 May 2006: Sevenfold @ First Baptist Church, PJ

Come worship with us, as we openly declare and acknowledge the role of the church is carrying out the Great Commission.

Sevenfold will be playing the worship on the 6 May 2006 (Sat) for the New Tribes Mission Conference 2006, aptly themed "Reaching Unreached Tribes... Beyond Evangelism", held at First Baptist Church, at Jalan Pantai, Taman Jaya, Petaling Jaya. The band will take the stage at around 7:30pm, and we can't tell you how excited and, at the same time, honoured and blessed to be playing for an event as big as this.

It's going to be a mission-focused conference, and on the same evening the speaker, Ross Nancarrow (NTM Australia's chairman) will be speaking on "The Church's Privilege and Responsibility". Other speakers gracing this event will be Oli Jacobsen (NTM Executive Committee chairman), Bob Kennell (missionary to PNG and New Testament translator in a PNG dialect) and Calvin Tan (our very own home group missionary, who is also NTM Malaysia's head).

Please pray for us as we take the worship. Pray that God will lead us towards a more mission-focused ministry in worship. Leading worship in songs that are directed towards missions are all new to us and we pray and hope God will use what talents we have for His glory.

If you're free this Saturday evening, pop over to support us and the conference. The night meetings are free, so there's no excuses for not coming.

See you all there.

God bless.

Winston (on behalf of the team).

Next gig: Trinity Methodist Church, PJ (24 March 2006)

Hi guys,
Sevenfold has been invited by Trinity Methodist Church to lead the worship for their Livewire College Ministry on next Friday, 24 MARCH 2006 at 8:30pm.
Wei Shern is the speaker for the night.
We would like to invite you all to come and support us (the people from your own home church), as we join our fellow Christians in worshipping the Lord together.
"Exalt the LORD our God and worship at his footstool; he is holy." Psalm 99:5 (NIV)
See you all there.

For His glory,
Winston

11 March 2006: Bangsar Gospel Centre's 30th Anniversary

Bangsar Gospel Centre's 30th anniversary... our second gig... our home church.

It always feels great to be playing at your own home church's event. Personally, I felt very honoured to be part of the event and yet humbled when I was asked to worship lead with the band backing me. We did a "gig" (if you could even use that word at all) of two components -- worship and performance. We had Chrissie and Yi Lin helping us with the backing vocals and Angie doing the multimedia projector for us. This happened to be one of those times where I didn't have an assigned pianist and/or keyboardist. Choi Wan played here and there and that was about it. So basically it was a very wall of guitar sound we employed for the worship and the performance.

Anyway, the photos are up on the flickr badge on this blog.

Gotta run now. I have a breakfast meeting with a friend and I have to leave in fifteen minutes and I'm not even ready.

Thanks for all who came and continue to seek God and worship Him in spirit and in truth (John 4:23-24).

Shalom, Winston

1 March 2006

Hi everyone,

I've only got about five to ten minutes to quickly put an entry here before I go out again, so here goes.

I just got back from the Saturday Evening Service committee meeting, where I met the committee (duh!) and discussed about the upcoming 30th anniversary celebration.

So it's confirmed. Sevenfold will be playing three songs and doing the worship. The service will be on at the usual time at 5:30pm and it will be packed with presentations, not only from Sevenfold but others as well, although Esther Khoo has pulled out.

Anyways, it's already the 1st of March and we have to get down to work soon. Only 10 days left. I'm still a little sad that both Sarah and Daniel won't be able to join us in playing for our church, in our church. There will be more opportunities though. Still, I think as a band, they will be sorely missed. Now were understrength. Right now, we need a lot of practices, and a lot more prayer.

Keep us in prayer. Will keep you posted again soon.

In His love,
WL

ps It seems I don't need to go out anymore. I originally thought of going over to CW's, Sarah's and Edmund to pass them some CDs but since Sarah's busy studying and CW's sleeping soon, I decided against it. So, time to call it an early night nonetheless. Another day at work tomorrow and the day after before the weekend comes again.

Trinity Methodist Church - 10 Feb 2006

Here are a bunch of photos that were taken during our recent gig at the Livewire College Ministry launch at the Trinity Methodist Church at PJ during their Open Mic Night.

We played four songs that night: Not To Us, Amazing Grace, How Great Is Our God and In Christ Alone.

Thanks to everyone who has came to support our first ever gig as a band. We know who you are and you know who you are.
